A visit from Captain Cash!
Our wet day turned out to be an especially good day with a visit from a real live Super Hero
none other than ASB's Captain Cash!
Captain Cash taught us all about the different values of notes and coins as well as talking to us about spending our money for both 'Needs' and 'Wants'.
We learned that a 'need' is something we have to have to survive like water, shelter, food etc and a 'want' is something we'd like to have such as chocolate or toys. We learned that when we spend our money it's a good idea to spend it on what we need first then we can save our money to have what we want.
This is a Super Hero chant she taught us:
"Speed to your needs and wait for your wants"
Thanks for visiting us Captain Cash, we had so much fun today!

Collecting Autumn's finest in the afternoon sun.
We're loving Autumn in Marama!
What could be more fun than collecting Autumn leaves, berries and seed pods in amongst the trees! We were so inspired by our stash that we decided to write stories and poems describing the colours and how we feel about Autumn. Here are just a few to share with you.
Autumn.
It's arrived so early.
Yay, I love this time of year.
Red leaves fall from the trees.
Brown leaves fall from the trees.
Oh how I love Autumn!
By Jude
Red like an apple.
Yellow like the gold glow of the sun.
Brown like someone's hair.
Orange like an orange that is a fruit rolling away.
Autumn is cool.
By Monique
Red like blood in my body.
Yellow like gold glowing in the sun.
Brown like mud that I can feel on my feet.
Orange like apricots on the tree.
